Belleair – Ladies Professional Golf Association

Last updated on November 3, 2022

It appears from the tone of the letter, the Town of Belleair is distancing itself from its original notices, that on the surface, gave the impression. The town was a co-sponsor.

They still proclaim, “The Town of Belleair is excited to host a Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) tournament at the Pelican Golf Club in May of 2020.”

A small sign telling pedestrians that access to a golf course is “restricted to playing members and guests”.
“Please note that the Pelican Women’s Championship is a private event to be hosted on private property.

The Pelican Golf Club has hired Eiger Marketing (a professional event company) to manage the event. Eiger is responsible for developing and implementing all-tournament plans. While the town is involved with permitting, public safety, and communications, we are not in any way running this event.

“However, in the best interests of Belleair’s residents, the Pelican Golf Club and Eiger Marketing have been working closely with an LPGA Ad Hoc Committee of Belleair residents and with town staff to design the event to have the least possible impact.”

Do you spend your entire day hating the Town you live in? Do you have anything better to do than invent controversy? Seriously- are you some kind of failed journalism major and you think this is your responsibility? Get a life man! I’d bet you’ve never even been to a Belleair Town Hall meeting – and you certainly wouldn’t identify yourself if you did. You’re a coward James… stand up in the public eye instead of your fake, invented little podium of a newsletter. Or, if you must continue, learn how to SPELL!

His unkind comments concerned the article “Belleair – Ladies Professional Golf Association.” The antagonistic comments came from Mr. Jim Doe. Not that it would matter to him? I didn’t write the article. But take responsibility for the part we did. We wrote. “It appears from the tone of the letter, the Town of Belleair is distancing itself from its original notices” and “on the surface, giving the impression the town was a co-sponsor.” The rest of the post was written by and published on the Town of Belleair website.

James, i am grateful for your time and willingness to provide all Belleair residents with a voice. Too many instances of bait and switch. Examples:
    1) Belleair town meeting, told Pelican open to everyone. Us little people agree to multiple concessions and then blocked from club.
    2) Town meetings are the first and third TUESDAY of each month, but town adds that we should be at their meeting this Wednesday to discuss Poinsettia road closure, etc. Want to bet that gets decided on Tuesday, while we’re redirected to Wednesday? Changes to meeting schedule ought to be e-blasted, These little towns are the opposite of what the sunshine laws intended. Exclusion carries fear and hate, not where i’m coming from, and i have great concern over “The Haters” for you need us, little guys, to clean up after you!
