Virtual Belleair Town Meetings Zoom Interactive

Using Zoom to hold interactive virtual meetings is a great start. Allowing, Belleair citizens to participate from home or office.

I only wish the town had used e-blast to alert residents and did so sooner since Zoom required downloading the app, calling a number, and wasn’t that user friendly.

I personally was unable to connect to the meeting?

Perhaps a YouTube video would help. With many seasoned residents joining and participating in the webinar, instructions were not user friendly.

None the less it was a good start.

Other possible methods could include internet or satellite-enabled audio or video conferencing?

Either way, using Belleair’s e-blast system to alert residents on topics of real interest is a no brainer!

• • The approval of the fiscal year budget calendar is required in order to comply with certain sections of the Florida Administrative Code. The budget calendar provides a timeline for actions in approving the town’s fiscal year millage rate and budget. The calendar also displays the dates the Pinellas County Commission and County School Board holds their budget public hearings, this is to ensure there are no conflicts with municipalities scheduling their public hearings. Previous Commission Action: The Commission has approved previous fiscal year budget calendars. Financial Implications:  There are no financial implications in approving the fiscal year budget calendar. Recommendation:  Staff recommends approval of the 2020-2021 Fiscal Year Budget Calendar. Proposed Motion:  I move approval for the 2020-2021 Fiscal Year Budget Calendar. Proposed budget hearings are as follows:

Virtual Commission Meetings

The Town of Belleair will be using Zoom to hold interactive virtual meetings for any upcoming Commission meetings or other public hearings. This format will continue throughout our response to COVID-19.

The next VIRTUAL Commission meeting will be on Tuesday, April 7 at 6:00 pm.

            • How to participate: Citizens may physically attend at Town Hall, however, capacity will be limited to six (6)  attendees due to guidelines regarding COVID-19 safety measures.

            • If any citizen emails comment to [email protected] prior to 5:45 pm on the day of the meeting, their comments will be read into the record during the meeting.

            • Those who wish to speak during the live meeting should email the Town Clerk at [email protected] to be placed on the list for live participation no later than 5:45 pm on the day of the meeting.

*If you intend to call in via a phone that is not utilizing the Zoom app, this will be the only way for you to provide notice.

Lastly, citizens may utilize the “raise hand” feature in the Zoom platform during the meeting to be placed in the queue as well.
