I have been registered for e-blast updates through townofbelleair.com for a while now. I recently started questioning how I missed notifications regarding town meetings and essential town issues. I went over about six months of alerts, not delete. Most dealing with Town closures solid waste hike, employees of the month, etc. Nothing about town meetings or issues that could genuinely affect residents.
Then I started examining the Belleair website. I found some issues.
The “Public Notices” link takes you to We’re sorry, but there is not a web page matching your entry.
Click on Agendas & Minutes; it goes to Search Belleair’s agendas and minutes now. It takes you off-site to a third-party website. https://belleairfl.legistar.com/Calendar.aspx a very users unfriendly page. Of town commission – board meetings etc
If you register for a general Town of Belleair e-blasts. It takes you to a form on a landing page. That says “Subscribe to List” to be registered to receive a minimal number of essential emails from the Town (expected average of 1 email per month). Their using mailchimp.com software – mailchimp.com continues to be exploit and hijacked.
If you “Register for Parks and Recreation” e-blasts, it takes you to a form on another landing page. It is using constantcontact.com, an online marketing company. Constantcontact.com had security breaches and spyware complaints.
I prefer to receive more than a minimal number of relevant emails. Instead of trying to navigate legistar.com/Calendar.aspx?
