Belleair Beach Belleair lament the passing of two much-loved locals.
Mr. Orlando (Chuck) Behling —
Mr. Orlando C. (Chuck) Behling passed away on November 10, 2020, at his Winter home in Belleair, Florida. He was born April 19, 1933, in Janesville, Wisconsin. He attended grade and high school. During the Korean War, he served in the army and received a bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees from the University of Wisconsin Madison.
Chuck was highly intelligent as well as witty and a respected, internationally known educator and researcher. A Fellow in the Academy of Management taught in colleges of business at Ohio State University (20 years) and Bowling Green State University (18 years), named Distinguished University Professor. He authored over 40 articles and books, was the Academy of Management Review editor and served on many editorial boards.
Mr. Behling was more traveled than an astronaut and smarter than most after retirement. He taught at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology as well as University College Dublin in Ireland. Brains like this will be missed.
Belleair Beach Craig D. Smith,
Craig D. Smith, the loving husband of Nancy A. Smith and the father of three children. Passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 7, 2020, in Belleair Beach, Fla. Craig married his wife Nancy for nearly 40 years. At the time of his untimely passing was only 66. Born May 11, 1954, in Scranton, Craig He enjoyed spending time with friends and loved spending time with their grandchildren.
Upon graduating from Abington Heights High School, Craig completed his bachelor of science degree from Bloomsburg University while serving as a noble member of the Delta Omega Kai fraternity in 1977.
I didn’t know Mr. Smith, personally. But told he had a distinctive appreciation for a good joke. He was a big Yankee fan, loved the NY Giant’s blue, and Indycar racing grabbed his attention, and he cherished sharing the sport with Nick and Nancy.
Craig was truly a family man and loved his work. One of his favorite events was the company Christmas party. He always led the celebration with a memorable act that will never be duplicated.
His wife, Nancy, survive Craig; his children, Nicholas Smith, Eddie Ware Jr. (Erin), Dana Edwards (John), Tank, and Hershey; a brother, Bill Smith; two sisters, Carol Ann Saar and Connie Leavsley; grandchildren, Beau, Carson, and Sam Ware and Addison and Benjamin Edwards; and many nieces and nephews.
