Pinellas County reported its first coronavirus casualty. According to the report from the DOH released at 6 p.m. Monday, March 23. Pinellas County had 41 cases of coronavirus thirty-seven Floridians and four visitors. Twelve of which are hospitalized. The county’s cases include 26 men and 15 women ranging from 21-75. The average age is 53. Nine are St. Petersburg residents, eight are from Clearwater, six from Largo, three from Seminole, three from Tarpon Springs, two from Gulfport and one each from Belleair, Clearwater Beach, Palm Harbor and Pinellas Park. The number of deaths in Florida increased from 14 to 18.

Coronavirus cancels more community events, meetings
Striving for to help curtail the surge of the COVID-19 coronavirus, Belleair area is postponing or canceling services and the following events.
All town of Belleair government buildings, including Town Hall, the public works building, and the Dimmitt Community Center are closed to public access. Business transactions and payments will be conducted via drop boxes, mail, telephone, and/or online.

The Bluffs Wine Walk scheduled for March 28 has been postponed to a later date to be determined.
Starting March 12th, the town of Belleair postponed or canceled all town-sponsored special events and recreational programs for at least for the next 30 days. Canceled or postponed events include:
•Springfest – April 11
•Free Shredding Event – April 25
•Belleair Rec Family Golf Tournament – April 24-25
•The Belleair Community Foundation has also canceled all events through at least Sunday, April 12.
•Belleair Bluffs City Hall is closed to public access. City staff will remain available by phone or email.
