How Can Belleair Citizens Participate?
It’s the old adage, “What you don’t know won’t hurt you,” until it does. Our local elected officials and their choices have maximum impact on our daily lives. Voting for town officials can be more significant than voting for president.
Accessing public records makes voters knowledgeable. It allows us to know what town officials did or did not accomplish.
Something most elected officials don’t want. An informed voter! Our local officials are elected to represent the majority. When a significant fraction of the electorate fails to vote, bias can be prevalent.
Without participation, a vote by town officials ends the issue; it also ends it for residents who are genuinely invested in it.
There are at least half a million elected officials in the United States. Only 537 of them are federal. So, voting for town officials and your mayor is likely more significant than voting for president. Political changes have a maximum impact on our everyday lives.
