Belleair began as a resort tourist town. After Henry B. Plant, founder of the Plant System of railroads and Steamboats constructed the Tampa Bay Hotel. In 1896 the Belleair Bellevue Hotel launched the beginning of Tampa’s and Pinellas’s history as a tourist destination.

Mr. Plant selected the Belleair Country Club site to construct a winter golf resort in 1897. The state’s oldest golf course. As a result, Belleair originated as a theatrical tourist town. But as the Bellevue increased tourist interest in the area. It also created demand for a residential neighborhood.

Belleair has become a tony town of beautiful homes and world-class golf courses. Located in Pinellas County, Florida. Offering a genuine small-town warmth. Choosing to be a separate entity from the neighboring City of Clearwater was incorporated in 1925.

Town Manager and mayor are two of the most prestigious positions in local government. City and town managers are hired by a city or town council. To implement and oversee day-to-day operations.
