With COVID-19, a federal election, friends and family members losing jobs, others losing their businesses, news reports saying one thing while others tell us something entirely different, a constant barrage of negative political ads, protest, and unrest. It’s no wonder everybody’s on edge and going for the jugular.
In the big scheme of things, Pinellas County was fortunate with 23,623 less than 2½ of the county case and 792 deaths less than ¼ of 1% related to COVID-19. It is not yet known whether meteorological conditions and temperature affect the spread of COVID-19. However, some other viruses spread less in warm weather months? So, as Pinellas County residents have a leg up.
The three basic things seem to help. Garbing a face covering. Washing our hands often, and try to keep a safe distance when in public. Covering your cough or sneeze with a tissue or at least into your arm.
Like most of us, I don’t particularly appreciate wearing a mask and unsure how effective they are. Nevertheless, I wear one whenever I go out in public.
Like all COVID-19 cases aren’t equal in severity and affect us differently; not all pollical views are created equal either. As citizens, we need to understand the only way to understand others isn’t to argue and insult. Rather, take a few minutes and try to understand everyone’s interest is a critical step in the process of problem-solving.
It would be great instead of a contentious debate with opposing interpretations of a situation. At the same time, lacking concrete evidence and spinning our wheels. Helps no one!

I finally realize local politics are as important if not more important than national elections? Local and politics affect our day-to-day lives more than the president signing or not signing a bill will. The virus knows no borders.
City council and other local government officials are our first government responders responsible for creating a safe, honest, and well-run city. Determining what will happen, especially now when it comes to our health.
Department of Health Pinellas County reported Belleair had 49 confirmed COVID-19 cases. Belleair Beach had 28, Belleair Bluffs had four, Belleair Shores reported none. While Clearwater Beach had 160 COVID-19 cases.
