Please wake up, folks, we don't stand a chance! Instead of worrying about a few unfortunate street people or coyotes. Here are the real predators. The Florida Public Service Commissioners and our state Legislatures. Why not start an email/phone campaign. Telling them to stop being partners with the electric and gas utilities company’s and regulate in the public interest.

From us! Duke Energy says the average customer will see their monthly bill go up by $5.34.

July 1, 2020, DEF filed a proposal with the Florida Public Service Commission. Possible increases by 1.5% every year.

The company plans to decrease Florida residential rates by 2.8% while making grid improvements to enhance reliability, security, and resilience in 2021 and beyond. Yes, beyond when pigs fly.

Decreasing Florida residential rates by 2.8% “while making grid improvements to enhance reliability, security, and resilience in 2021 and beyond.” When they raised our rates 48% from 2003/2014, another 28% in 4 years, and a 17.3% increase in 2019, it’s easy to jawbone about a decrease of 2½%.

When looking at your utility bill, be sure to look at the municipal franchise fee and municipal tax. In Belleair Beach, it is 16% of your total electric costs.
