Living in Belleair FL with all the political drama

Living in Belleair FL

Belleair, FL, neighboring the Bluffs, has friends on Belleair Shores and Belleair Beach, all with their political drama. That seems is now the norm. Trying to be Switzerland and taking a neutral position is hard. It’s becoming harder than swallowing a handful of thumbtacks. I find myself saying they didn’t do that? Didn’t they say that?

What’s even harder to digest is that most elected officials think voters are merely an experiment in artificial foolishness. Which has become obvious? With the recent actions or lack of actions. Actions and behaviors that even on the surface. Have the appearance of being a conflict of interest. I believe they are impossible for a reasonable person not to conclude something smells? If done by a private individual is perfectly fine. However, when done by a public official whose position demands scrutiny, it is not only unethical. In some cases, a crime.

Belleair Residents

Above all, in the eyes of the law, a man is guilty when he violates the rights of others. In ethics, he is guilty if he only thinks of doing so. In other words, there is no such thing as a minor lapse of integrity.

Staying n Belleair with their local politics, it’s what isn’t spoken that matters. And most local officials know when they’re explaining their losing. A reason why, as Americans, we want more transparency, elected officials want less, and make it costly and as difficult as possible to obtain public records. This way, they hold their “shade” meetings with no consequences. It’s why it takes so long for them to reply to our emails.

They know that most of us will surrender and why they ignore their obligations to their constituents.

Their ability to distort the facts while misrepresenting their deeds and actions. Just think if they used their gifts to fulfilling their fiduciary obligations.

As long as they appease 10% of preferred Belleair residents, they can control the rest of us and continue treating Belleair as a personal fiefdom overseen by a few feudal Lords and Milady.

In conclusion, like the real world of today, the feudal Lords take care of the Vassal. Who, in turn, pledges political allegiance and provides their political services to the Lords? The tenants make sure their Vassal is pleased. Servants service Knights. While the peasants go to work every day, feed everyone, and pay their taxes. No questions were asked.

We need to be at town hall meetings.anyone else get a card Notice of Special Public Discussions, mentions Oct 2020 meeting. Nothing about tonite’s meeting? The whole town needs to vote anytime BCF wants to spend town money. BCF funded privately, not through public funds. Is it legal and/or ethical for the elected officials to be in charge of their own slushy/stature fund. Don’t see any statues, water fountains or doggie poop bag set up East if Indian Rocks Road. We’re still wondering about sidewalks and decent sewage. That’s a whole different topic.

Nothing yet, Jane? Normally the only thing the Bellghetto (600 blocks of Mehlenbacher) section of Belleair gets from the town or their agencies. Involves the utility bill for water, sewer, stormwater, and refuse.

But this is a prime example for Belleair to use the emergency alerting system. According to Cathy DeKarz their refusal is based on a Memorandum of Agreement with the Florida Division of Emergency Management only to be used for such emergency and safety circumstances. Regulated intentionally so that the alerts sent to residents are always essential and necessary for all citizens. Overabundance text alerts cause residents to unsubscribe and/or not pay attention to critical messages when they are distributed.

Right! Monday, I got an alert from Belleair. Regarding the “Belleair Rec Family Tournament,” now that’s an emergency and safety situations? As I said, they believe residents are an experiment in artificial foolishness.
